Neck Pain

There are a number of possible causes for neck pain, including: injury, muscular problem, trapped nerve caused by bulged disc, arthritis of the neck and more. The pain ranges anywhere from mild to extremely severe. When the pain is sudden and overwhelming, it's called facet syndrome or muscular rheumatism.

Neck pain is a very common condition, and most will experience it at some point in their life. The following can trigger neck pain: trauma or injury, worry/stress, falling asleep in a weird position, and even prolonged use of a computer keyboard.

Some neck pain can be serious, if accompanied by any of the following:

  • Shooting pains from neck to shoulder and extending down arm
  • Any type of numbness/decrease in strength or control of patient's arms/hands.
  • Any changes in bathroom habits
  • If patient cannot touch his/her chin to his/her chest.
